Pre-K 3 CurriculumWReligion PreK-3 uses the I Am Special
program for Religion. Through songs, storytelling of Scripture,
prayers, finger-plays, games, and art activities the children learn
about God’s love. &Language ArtsStudents use books and their environment to connect mathematics, science, social studies and Religion. ¯Mathematics Students count, compare and sort by shape, size, weight, color and texture. The calendar, the days of the week and months of the year are also taught. Integrating #Art ¯Music þScience and �Social Studies Themes: Getting to know you: Everyone is different but is interdependent. Animals such as fish, frogs, crickets, chameleon, and crabs in the different environments in which they live, are studied.Fall: The fall brings changes in the weather – how do we adapt? We will study apples, pumpkins, owls, squirrels, trees and of course Thanksgiving.Christmas: Christmas is a very special time for us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Plan on coming to hear us sing in our very special concert.Winter: We study the Polar bear and the brown bear. How do we stay warm during the colder months? We will experiment with cold and hot, sight and hearing.Spring: The warm weather brings new growth. We study new life including butterflies, birds, chicks, eggs and bunnies. We experiment with and study vegetables, flowers, seeds and dirt. Students have morning and lunch recesses. A healthy snack is provided for themto eat during the morning. They are encouraged to nap or rest in the afternoon for approximately 30 minutes.

Curriculum Students attend Mass on Holy Days of Obligation or special Feast days. ¨Media Students explore the Media Center through basic concepts of titles, authors, and subjects. Students can check out books appropriate to their age level. UPhysical Education Students are exposed to fitness assessments, traveling/locomotor skills, Body management/Gymnastics/Dance, Soccer. Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Track, T-ball and individual dual sports such as Golf, Tennis, and Badminton are taught. ,Spanish Student learn elements of conversation through greetings, salutations, colors, numbers, and basic vocabulary. :Technology
Students are introduced to technology through the classroom as well
as in the computer laboratory. Students learn the appropriate use
of the computer, mouse, keyboard, recognizing icons, and maneuvering
through simple tutorial programs. |
