SCHOOL UNIFORM
A parent’s responsibility is to see that children are sent to school wearing the proper uniform daily. All students are required to wear the APPROVED uniform daily. Beginning with the first day of school, students who are not wearing the appropriate uniform may be sent home until the problem can be corrected. Uniform shirts, shorts, jumpers, skirts, skorts, sweaters, jackets, and sweatshirts are to be purchased only at school or through Sir Walter Uniforms. New and used uniform sales are available through the school store.
GIRLS
Uniform plaid jumpers and shorts (grades 1-5), khaki uniform skirts, skorts, shorts, or pants.Skirts, skorts or jumpers that are too short are not acceptable. A staff member may measure a skirt/skort/jumper. All jumpers, skirts and skorts should be hemmed no more than 2” above the knee. A skirt / culotte / jumper / skort which is hemmed appropriately may be loaned to girls in constant violation of this policy at the discretion of the teacher or administration. Uniform shorts must fit at the waist. Shorts, which are too short, are not acceptable. Shorts may NEVER be worn to Mass.
OLL white oxford cloth shirt and navy tie to be worn to Mass by students in 1st grade and above (students wearing the jumper and peter pan collar blouse are exempt).Navy blue OLL pique shirts – either long or short sleeved.
Long sleeved turtlenecks monogrammed on the collar.
Navy blue dress sweatshirt or sweater with logo.
Solid navy blue jacket with logo.
Shirts, sweaters, and sweatshirts that are too large are not acceptable.
Only all black sneakers or shoes are permitted. Sneakers must be leather or vinyl (no canvas sneakers) with no logos or markings or color combinations (no heelys). Shoes must be appropriately tied.
A solid, plain black belt must be worn with all uniform shorts and pants for students in grades 1-8. Belts must be placed through belt loops and be visible.
Navy blue OLL PE athletic shorts and light gray shirts are worn for PE.
Athletic shoes may ONLY be worn on PE days with PE uniform. Middle school students must bring athletic shoes to change for PE class and may only wear them for the duration of PE class. Design and colors must be within reason. Shoes may be Velcro or tie. Shoes must be appropriately tied.
OLL sweatshirts, jackets, and pants are permitted for cold or inclement weather – outside only. Girls may wear white or navy tights with their uniform in case of cold weather.
ONLY plain white crew, knee socks or tennis socks are acceptable. Socks must completely cover the heel and ankle.
BOYS
APPROVED khaki dress shorts or pants, which fit at the waist. Only regulation pants and shorts are permitted. Pants should be purchased to fit at the waist, not the hips. Low riders are not permitted.

Shorts may not be worn for Thursday or Holy Day liturgies. During cold weather, students are permitted to wear the uniform sweater or sweatshirt indoors. Other sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets are not to be worn in the classroom. Students way wear plain white T-shirts under their monogrammed shirts during cold weather.
ADDITIONAL UNIFORM GUIDELINES
The following apply to ALL students:
Hair should be neatly groomed and combed way from the face as to not cover the face.
Boys’ natural hair length must be above the eyebrows, ears, and shirt collars.
Student hair color must be their natural hair color.
No exotic haircuts such as shaved heads, tails, mohawks or spiked hair.
No hair dying including, hi-lights, lo-lights, chunking, tips, streaking, etc.
Facial hair is not permitted. Boys will be asked to shave beards and mustaches.
Boys and girls will be asked to remove hair decorations, such as beads, as they cause a distraction to the learning process.
Make-up, lipstick, nail polish or artificial nails are not permitted.
Girls are permitted to wear one pair of stud earrings in the ear lobe.
Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.
No body piercing is permitted for boys or girls.
Watches and religious medallions are acceptable jewelry.
Students who consistently violate the uniform policy will lose the privilege of participating in NUT Days.
